It all began in Assam Kamal was raised in Assam by his mother and father in the Muslim faith. In order to strike out on his own he choiced the Indian army at the age of 16, eventually leaving to move to the Middle East. After a couple of years in the Middle East he moved to Canada where is cooking skills were honed at a hotel in Toronto. After a few years in Canada he came to the USA and settled in the San Francisco Bay Area. His good friend introduced him to his wife, Nimmi Bano, a native of Calcutta, and the culinary adventure began.
